A Lifelong Passion for Science
Charlotte’s path into science started early, and her journey took her through multiple scientific environments before she found her place at Timeline.
I’ve always dreamed of becoming a scientist. When I was eight years old, I wanted to work as a chemist in the cosmetics industry. Her true passion for biology emerged a few years later. “During middle school, I had my first biology classes. I was completely fascinated by discovering what happens inside the human body, and I immediately knew this was the field I wanted to pursue,” Charlotte explains. From that moment, she oriented all her studies toward biology and research.
Academic and Industry Foundations
Eager to immerse herself in science, Charlotte left her hometown in the French Alps and moved to Paris, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacology and cosmetology at Université Paris Descartes. She began her career at Servier, one of France’s leading pharmaceutical companies, working as a research technician focused on metabolic diseases.

Continuing to broaden her experience, Charlotte next joined the Institut de Biologie de l’École Normale Supérieure in Paris as an assistant engineer and lab manager in a neuroscience laboratory. She even helped set up that lab from scratch, an incredibly enriching experience that taught her how to build research capabilities from the ground up. Academia allowed her to explore scientific ideas freely, “but over time, I realized that I missed applied research, and my mountains,” she says with a smile. After several years in Paris, Charlotte felt the pull of home and the desire to see her work have a more direct impact on people’s lives.
She decided to return to her hometown near the Swiss border and seek opportunities closer to the Alps and closer to translational science. In the process of searching for a new position, Charlotte discovered Timeline. She was immediately impressed by the company’s scientific publications and clinical studies, particularly those focused on muscle health and aging.

In her role at Timeline, Charlotte focuses on turning scientific ideas into experiments that can prove real biological impact. “I bring scientific ideas to life by translating research hypotheses into robust in vitro experimental strategies,” she explains.
Charlotte’s role is especially important when exploring a new product concept. Each big idea must first become a testable scientific question.
When evaluating a new product concept, my role is to transform an initial idea into a rigorous in vitro research strategy. I begin with a critical review of the scientific literature to identify the most relevant cellular systems and biomarkers to demonstrate efficacy. This process often requires patience and constant refinement. Charlotte notes that bringing a hypothesis from idea to reliable data is rarely straightforward. “This work requires extensive optimization, patience, and problem-solving to ensure that the experiments are both reliable and biologically meaningful,” she emphasizes. Through this iterative, detail-oriented approach, Charlotte helps ensure that Timeline’s new product concepts are backed by solid scientific evidence from the very start.

Why Urolithin A Stands Out
With longevity now a hot topic in science and popular culture, it seems a new “longevity molecule” is in the headlines every day. Charlotte is quick to point out why Urolithin A, the active compound in Mitopure, stands apart from the rest. It all comes down to the mitochondria.
“What fascinates me most about mitochondria is that they are not just the cell’s energy producers; they are key regulators of many essential processes in the body,” she explains. “Mitochondria influence muscle function, metabolism, inflammation, cellular aging, heart health, and how our cells adapt to stress over time. A Life of Science, Mountains, and Balance
Charlotte’s approach to longevity and wellness in her own life mirrors her scientific mindset: balanced, practical, and sustainable. “I try to approach longevity in a realistic and balanced way,” she says. “I make an effort to stay active by running twice a week and walking as much as possible. I’m also mindful of what I eat, focusing on whole, minimally processed foods.” She supports her health from the inside by taking Mitopure daily, giving her mitochondria a little extra boost. Outside the lab, Charlotte makes the most of her alpine surroundings and prioritizes time with loved ones. “I’m not sure which came first, skiing or science, but they are both true passions of mine,” she laughs. “On any sunny winter weekend, you’ll find me skiing in the French Alps. During the week, I go running along the lake with Mont Blanc in the background; it’s an incredible setting.” When summer arrives, she trades ski boots for a paddleboard or a bicycle, enjoying the lake and mountain trails.
Just as important, Charlotte cherishes her family and friends. “My friends and family are a real priority, and I love spending time with them, whether that means traveling, going out dancing, celebrating, or simply enjoying life together,” she says. These moments of connection keep her grounded. “For me, the mountains are an amazing playground, but sharing good moments with the people I love is just as essential.” It’s a philosophy of balance: pursuing her passions in nature, sustaining her health with daily habits, and savoring the joy of community.
